Oppression is cooking being “women’s work,” while the overwhelming majority of top restaurant chefs are male.
Oppression is fashion being a “silly girl thing,” while the top earning designers and CEOs in fashion are male.
Oppression is reducing women to consumers profiting a male system, even in fields that we supposedly dominate.
this is so fucking important.

A guy is taking his girlfriend to prom. He waits in the ticket line for a really long time but gets them. He goes to rent a limo. The rental line is really long but he eventually does it. He goes to buy her flowers. The line at the florist is really long but eventually he gets the flowers. At prom, she asks him to go get punch. He goes to the refreshment table and there’s no punchline.

Maybe? That’s a hard question. I feel like drawing comes naturally to me but then when I look back to when I first started drawing and the many years after that, I realize that it just feels like that because I put most of my energy towards drawing learning how to draw. It really is just a matter of practice I think and then it will eventually become more natural.
I feel like I’m not at a place where I could give great advice because I really just feel like I got lucky and I have major imposter syndrome. And being at Disney is my first industry job ever haha. I owe it mostly to my online presence. People will say your follow count doesn’t matter at all, and while it’s true that you shouldn’t be doing art just for numbers or followers, having a following does help get your art out into the world and reach the feeds of possible employers. Just get yourself out there. Talk to other people in the industry, learn from them and just be a nice person. Sometimes a good personality goes a long way.
@lulusketches just did a great youtube video on applying for animation jobs actually. You should check it out! She explains everything much better than I ever could
